Metal Gear Online will no longer require Custom Firmware when the server is updated in April. Also they're updating the game to version 1.36 which was its final update before the game closed.



Notable bits: Need a USB drive with at least 8gb space, need an MGS4 disc (NA/EU), Legacy collection won't work, Digital Download PSN MGS4 won't work. Release date sometime in April.

what is this about metal gear online? thats a thing? and why is it restricted?

Official server was closed in 2012. Was revived a few years ago but only worked with CFW PS3s. Now they've got it working on OFW PS3s again.
