Homebrew Mame2003 plus input

I was trying to play Pole Position, when I found that for some motive the Input commands on mame menu was removed. On older mame2003 core you need to remap the gear because the default command is Space Bar. There is a solution for this?

I just got the recent nightilies, and this problem was fixed there
