Homebrew Long Load Times-Pokemon XD Gale of Darkness

When I play pokemon xd gale of darkness the game runs fine for the most part, however during transitions(ie I leave an area and go to the map screen) there is a black screen and jumbled audio. It usually is 5 minutes (at best) of waiting before the game screen comes back and audio goes back to normal. I'm about to burn a dvd with the iso and see if that fixes it, but I'd obviously prefer to run via usb.
