Hey guys,

as Cyan already said, padcon is now officially integrated into Loadiine! :)

It is disabled by default, to activate it just add the following line to your loadiine_gx2.cfg or change the value to 1 if it already contains a PadconMode setting:
PadconMode=1
Padcon is currently still trigerred by pressing the right button stick. Custom button combinations are up next!

Thanks for all the feedback again and have fun!

Sorry to ask, but what does Padcon do exactly? :P

Also, I'd like to ask if button remapping would be possible.
I'd like to see that for DS VC since the settings for DS do not allow button remapping (Metroid Prime Hunters pointing with the right analog stick would be swell!)

Hi guys, I'm trying to run HB and Loadliine; I'm on version 4.1.0
following the guide, I'm stuck at the part of the webhost exploits; I can't host locally, so I'm visiting the 4 linked example websites. 2 of them show me that the server can't be found (/payload410), other 2 go to the respective websites but once I press on something like HB or Loadliine it shows that it can't be found either. Does this has to do with my Wii U being on 4.1.0 or did I miss a crucial pre-step? Thank you.
None of these sites is hosting the exploit for 4.1.0

So it seems the kernel exploit changes actually do improve the success rates on 5.4.0 as well. I guess it is safe to say it is improved on 5.3.2 and 5.4.0 then right? It would be nice if some guys from the other firmwares (< 5.3.2) would also test it as well to make sure it doesnt break stuff for them before i commit the changes.

Tested on 5.0.0 and it still works ;).
From my point of view the success rate has improved!

@dimok: But it seems like you have used an old libwiiu with the wrong address for OSDynLoad_Acquire for firmware versions 5.0.0 (https://github.com/wiiudev/libwiiu/commits/master) while compiling the payloads

You can read what padcon is all about here!

Regarding button remapping, it's already been requested, but I won't have the time (nor the motivation, to be honest) to implement that in the foreseeable future, so I'll leave that to someone else. It shouldn't be too difficult, most of the work (VPADRead()-hook and whatnot) is already done in the current Loadiine build.

Quick question... Does this turn off the display, including input, or does it just turn off the backlight? I thought I had read somewhere that even though the display was off, touch input was still being detected/accepted.

this has my hopes up.

Can I play online?
No!
Loadiine is currently not working online, it's offline mode only.
Don't ask WHEN it will work. You'll know when it will work.

This looks really good, I'm going to have to get around to messing with my Wii U at some point, I've been putting it off for months at this point.

100 pages to search through, so I am just going to ask it even though it prolly has been answered already.

After running the exploit and gx2 and in game, I exit the game by pressing the home button. However upon trying to run gx2 again from wiiubru, it tries to run the kernel exploit again and then hangs on the white wiiu screen.

Anyway to run gx2 again without the kernel exploit once you have already ran the exploit and have exited a game?

After pressing the home button click on close the application it will take you to the WiiU menu and from there click on the Miimaker icon instead of clicking the Internet browser. It will take you to the GX2 Menu. From there click the home button again and it will take you to the HBL Menu. That's what I do to prevent what happened to you.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
