Question Link videos from google drive?

I was curious, for some reason, google drive can play videos, it looks like the youtube player, but according to the media tool in the text box, is not supported, is it possible to somehow support it without needing to upload to youtube? I assume maybe it has something to do with the url itself but can we hear from a more knowledgeable person?

it can play videos, tons of reactors upload their videos to google drive then make redirects on their youtube channel so they can avoid copyright

although it seems to have a limit of 1000 viewers before the video gets blocked for 24/48 hours

Yeah, that limit is really annoying.
Also, I'm not sure if those videos can be embedded? I never looked into it.

What's this "media tool"?

Tried opening a video I uploaded in 2014, indeed it comes up with a youtube-like player but doesn't actually play (newest official Chrome and "ad"block disabled or not), I guess that's a bug since I doubt they want to deliberately lose to Dropbox

it also has problems on phones. you can use link shorteners to fix that though

For my curiosity, what's wrong with uploading to YouTube? You can just make it an unlisted video if you don't want people outside of the thread viewing it, and there's no limit that would cripple the video.
