I MEANT TO PUT libwiisprite in the title
I am installing libwiisprite, based off of the instruction provided on wiibrew, and I am unable to make any of the test programs due to an error relating to missing -lz.
libWiiSprite\libwiisprite\examples\spritetest>make
linking ... spritetest.elf
c:/devkitpro/devkitppc/bin/../lib/gcc/powerpc-eabi/12.1.0/../../../../powerpc-eabi/bin/ld.exe: cannot find -lz
collect2.exe: error: ld returned 1 exit status
make[1]: *** [/opt/devkitpro/devkitPPC/wii_rules:30: /home/drake/Documents/libWiiSprite/libwiisprite/examples/spritetest/spritetest.elf] Error 1
make: *** [Makefile:100: build] Error 2

It looks as if that would indicate that I am missing zlib, but after checking in pacman I have verified that zlib is installed. Both the original package, and the ppc-zlib package. Does anyone know what the problem may be?

Update : I installed a more updated nubian libwiisprite port, which works with the latest versions of devkitpro. I then installed ppc-freetype using pacman, and it works!
libwiisprite is back on the menu
