I just bought a fully backwards compatible CECHA01 and installed a 1TB HDD. The firmware is 4.86, so obviously I have to use PS3Xploit. I have PS3HEN installed on my Super-Slim, but I want a full CFW running on my new FAT. I heard Rebug is the best, so I guess I'll install that, but beyond that I can't find anything modern on how to use PS3Xploit to install Rebug. I can't even find a proper release of Rebug for 4.86, all I see is Rebug Lite, which from what I understand is not a coldboot CFW. Can someone give me some pointers? I know PS3Xploit has a ton of other stuff such as NOR/NAND flash, I don't know what that is, I don't know if I should be downgrading to 3.55 to install Rebug. How do I get OtherOS. This is nothing like the Wii, PSP, and DSi homebrew communities, which are just as old, but way more coherent and understandable, at least with those anybody can look at the hacks.guide, get everything started, and figure out the rest from there. Whereas in the PS3 scene, people just throw around the terms NOR flasher, R-DEX, SEN, lv2 syscalls, RAP and RIF activation like they expect any person who wasn't active in specific PS3 forums back in 2009 to just automatically understand what they were talking about. Can somebody get me point me to anything recent, and straightforwards and explains a lot of these things?

Install Exploit
Type https://www.ps3xploit.net/bgtoolset into the PS3 browser, and install the exploit from there. Keep the USB ports empty, so it's not trying to check them. After the exploit is successful, install CFW.

Rebug CFW
Rebug Lite is the same as regular Rebug, but without the DEX features. Installation is the same as OFW. (Rebug.me is down.) Download Link

Thank you so much. Would you also know of a modern way to setup OtherOS?

I saw that. Seems simple enough to setup, but it doesn't really have any information (like features, bugs, limitations, ease of use) on different distributions other than just saying that they exist. Would you know what the best distribution would be? Or can you recommend one or two and I can look into them? It would be easier if their weren't so many distributions compatible, but I guess choice is good.

When I worked for Dell we had access to data about military contracts and addresses for high ranking people.

I personally handled a call from the second highest person at Raytheon. That call bothered me a lot... The guy was nice and smart what bothered me was the way management basically just blew him off instead of going the extra mile to help him.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
In the end that call ended up costing Dell millions in lost contracts with Raytheon, and really the issue could have been solved for like 450 bucks lol

sometimes I wonder why anyone would ever buy mega man x legacy collection 2
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
I always thought that capcom shuffled the games in these collection, but apparently they are all in chronological order, which makes legacy collection 2 worthless
