It worked just fine on my previous R4, so I just copied the file over, but it freezes at a white screen after loading. I reformatted the card, and it still doesn't work. All my other games still work fine, though.

Your card is a DSTT clone, and DSTTs and clones require a little more work. It requires a clean rom, and a patched rom, and an unpacking tool like DSLazy. You unpack both roms and copy the 2 folders (NOT the .bins) from the patched version to the clean version, and repack the rom. It should work after that.
