Is there any reason to buy links awakening on virtual console instead of playing it on lameboy? Any extras or something.

Wow...just saw some screenshots of this.

Looks pretty neat actually, and has tempted me to get a 3DS. Of course I still have the 2d version, but stuff looks well rendered in LA:3D, dispite being made of GBC style Zelda graphics.

Give me my 3D OOA and OOS and maybe then...

well beeing curious as i am i just watched 2 vids and in none of them the 3d led was turned on so i assume there is no 3d in this game ...

so only thing why you should buy it would be to show nintendo how much zelda is loved (as they should already know) and hope they make more zelda games xD

It's a totally classic Zelda game, great in every way, and quite a mind-fuck by Zelda standards. But if you have any other way of playing it, you won't miss a damn thing. To my knowledge it's exactly the same as the Gameboy Colour version. If you've not played it, then what the hell are you waiting for? Go play it right now before I come after you and flick you in the head with a towel for not experiencing this gem at least once.

You'd be actually paying for it, for one thing.

I can't in all seriousness imagine any situation in which that could be considered a plus. Except if Nintendo catch you, which they never will because even if they could they don't care about people downloading ancient games like this, only about the big distributors of the latest games for the latest consoles.

Fuck it I bought it anyways. I figured now I wont have to worry about my save corrupted or losing my save because my flashcart getting disabled or some shit. I make $6 in like 40 mins anyways.

Don't worry about it. The game was marginal. I remember as a kid, after playing a Link to the Past, I played LA and though: "Wow. This plays just like the Super NES one with 8-bit graphics." Since I already had my fill of Zelda, I wasn't in the mood to do more of the same. I eventually played it through later, but it wasn't very engaging.

+1 to Link's Awakening being a total mindfuck. hell of an ending, that's for sure.

but i still love it. i can still whistle the tunes to this thing, even after a decade or so of not playing it.

Reason for buying it?
1- If you don't have the original cart on GBC;
2- If your original cart on GBC has a dead internal battery;
3- If you want to support the devs for a great game like this;
4- If you want to support the devs a second game, in case you already bought the GBC one.

Except they are making money from this game now.
They surely care more about people downloading Link's Awakening or Super Mario Land than people downloading [insert random GBC title] that isn't on the e-shop.
And I repeat, piracy should never be a good reason for not buying a game.

The game is amazing. $6 is an absolute steal for one of the best game boy games ever created, and the second best Zelda after Link to the Past.

Actually, it goes like this:

Twilight Princess > OOT > Minish Cap > Oracle of Ages/Seasons > Link's Awakening > LTTP
