Hey I brought out the Micro after a long time and I thought to myself how cool would it be if it had the capacity to run SNES Roms and the like, then I thought of Dingoo. Is Dingoo the best system nearest to the size a micro with high rate for ROM compatibility?

OK looking into a gcw zero first

You might be interested GP2X CAANOO - it's bigger than your desired size but it has more horsepower than the Dingoo A320 or the Dingoo A330, an analog stick (which apparently doesn't suck) and a touchscreen. It's compatible with GP2X/GP32X software, so naturally it has a library of emulators, homebrew and whatnot.

...and then there's the GCW Zero, but I'm not a big fan.

If you want something that is a similar size to the Micro, the Dingoo is best, but if you want better emulators, there are better systems. The gcw zero does look like it might be good, and it may be powerful enough to emulate n64 if an emulator is ever made.

The gcw zero is meant to emulate snes well, but i'm not too sure. I did see a video of it playing pilotwings for snes, and some people said how it played parts that were normally not emulated well at full speed.

GCW Zero is for gamers who like to fiddle / hack with their consoles all the day long. Seems like too much work with this Dingux business. If you like simple, drag, drop and play, go with a Dingoo A320, Dingoo Technologies A330 or Dingoo Digital A330 (same as a Gemei A330). Those last 2 are very cheap to obtain these days. A mere $53 hooks you up with a very decent multi-media / game player. http://boards.dingoonity.org/gemei-a330/

that comment about the gcw zero is biased. the same could be said for any "china chip" device running opendingux.

you may have to use an FTP client or their official transfer application, but i can assure you that there is no fiddling required. if you want to try experimental builds of software or legacy dingux software, then yea, you may have to dig a bit to get it working. all of the official opk files were essentially "drag-n-drop" (transfer-n-disconnect really), so i've honestly no idea what you are tying to say.

I'm just waiting for the day portable consoles can handle ported Snes emulators with better sound. ;)
Nvidia Shield is capable of that and it's 199usd right now so there's no reason to get any chinese knock-offs or those terrible MIPS based devices such as GCW.

Yeah, I'm seriously considering getting one of those because of its sheer raw CPU/GPU power for emulation, and the price has been reduced on the official nVidia site too :P

The Shield is a good deal if you're looking for a powerful Android device that's gaming-oriented, I concur.
