Gaming I'm confused about themes on custom firmware

but when I put them in my "psp/theme" folder on my memory stick, and go to themes in the XMB, my theme doesn't show as an option. Does anyone know what the deal is? I got a theme from some random website which shows up just fine, so how come these don't? Thanks!

Is the theme folder labelled in capitals?
Is the theme extension ptf?
Are you using a site that hosts theme files for normal FW PSP's NOT custom?

Yeah, it should look like this:
/PSP/THEME/ (not lower case)

And themes from OFW will work just fine on CFW, dunno where you get your info.

Thanks guys, any themes that I get from ANYWHERE else work fine, just not from the playstation store, so Im not sweating it. I'ts probably something Im doing wrong, but now that I know that most themes work Im not sweating it. Thanks!

Yeah, it should look like this:
/PSP/THEME/ (not lower case)

And themes from OFW will work just fine on CFW, dunno where you get your info.

maybe he meant those special XMB themes.

That's what I meant. If he said he'd get themes for CFW I would've said that just use OFW themes.
