I have hacked my Pokémon shield save file to have hacked pokemon and I have not been banned and don,t use cfw online and I have the hacked pokemon on the sysnand and I can go online and it works
Expect to get banned sooner or later. It might only be a game-specific ban if you are lucky. Nintendo takes cheating online pretty seriously. At least in Pokemon and Splatoon.

what are the odds of being banned
depends on what exactly you did, and how aggressive they are with cheating in pokemon game.
If you made everything look like legit pokemon and did it offline, it might not be a problem.
If you created obviously cheated pokemon and used them online or modified online battle results you might get banned, depending on how aggressive gamefreak/nitnendo is in pokemon, what exactly you did and how much they check.
Generally, you need to evaluate it on a game to game basis when talking about cheating and using mods in games, single player only games with no online connectivity are normally safe, singleplayer games with only some online connectivity might be safe, depending on what you are doing and what the devs implemented.
mainly online games are sometimes safe in private lobbies or for offline, sometimes they are only safe if you know what you are doing, and sometimes they are just not safe.

Just do some research about the specific game you want to know about, like in this case pokemon, and check some already existing posts about whats safe, and what not.

Everyone here seems to either be being rude, not trying to be helpful or giving out inaccurate information. So I'll try and be as helpful as I can.

I would not recommend using Edizon to cheat in games while playing online on the Switch. While doing it in offline only games might not cause issues it's still not recommended. Cheating online almost guarantees being banned in some capacity.

Just booting CFW without cheating is not enough though. Atmosphere devs actually intend for CFW on its own to be usable online, though I should note that that is in it's bare state. That's to say, no signature patches, no cheat tools, no modding games, and no modding user acc pfp or system logs.

Bans are almost guaranteed from cheating in online games (this includes save editing), installing titles to Sysnand (backups or unofficial), modding profile picture, editing or deleting logs.

Bans or clearance may not be guaranteed from offline games cheating or game mods in games without an online mode. Some people may say it's safe but if you don't want to be banned avoid it.

Offline mods may be used if set up on an emuMMC with its network connection either completely blocked or by setting up Atmosphere Hosts to block Nintendo Domains (I cannot and will not recommend DNS servers as they are slow and unreliable) and also Setting up Incognito on the emuMMC (incognito erases the online certificates and identifiers, this should never be used on sysnand as it may lock it out from NSO service but the emuMMC is fine to use it on since it's not meant to connect to the online service).

$60 for a game that's a decade old might be unheard of on PC but actually is not uncommon on consoles

especially Nintendo because they only ever lower the price of games when they do a greatest hits/platinum hits/players choice re-release
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@The Real Jdbye, and the HD collections released for 7th gen consoles too
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but they don't seem to have done any of those for the switch yet and maybe never will
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
I think we all forgot breath of the wild released for the wii u tbh

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@The Real Jdbye, tbh the HD collections are more justified since they include more than just 1 game per copy
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@SylverReZ I read that non-binary people identify as a blend of male and female. The point is i think i'm a blend of those and thus non binary
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, Non-binary people are those who don't identify themselves exclusively as male or female.
