Hello,
I have a really old flashcard and i wanted to use it to play all DS games and host multiplayer single-card games using DS Download Play, but I tried to download all the firmware from a website that i cant send because im a new member , which none of them work.

This is the flashcard (R4i V1.4):

If your DSi already has a CFW, you can use TwilightMenu++ to load NDS from SD card.

Actually, installing Twilight Menu++ is part of the process to hack the DSi, at least it is on THE DSi Guide:
Code:
https://dsi.cfw.guide/

I advice you against trying to follow video guides as they are most of the time non updated.

No, i dont think so. And how do I see it?

You need to test it using a program like H2testw. But be warned that all the contents will get erased, so you better back them up first.

Also, download it only from the official site. (heise[dot]de)

Ok. I went to test diferent games and I got suprised.
There are games that work (like Tetris DS, Kirby Super Stars Ultra and Mario Kart DS), but other games dont work (like New Super Mario Bros.)
I have no idea what is happening, I just want to play all games and host single-card games.
Heres a video: (the file is to big to put in this website)

So then, most probably is an issue with the kernel you're using.

Have you tried using Wood R4?

Check here:
Code:
https://gbatemp.net/threads/wood-r4-nds-files-to-load-wood-r4-ck3.269241/

And here:
Code:

There are download links available there. But I suggest you to read and understand how to make it work properly (if possible) on your R4 flashcard.

If the problem is only with certain games it may be a problem with the game file itself. In order to test out a rom I use RetroArch on my PC. It can recognize known working roms when using the "Import Content" feature. Though trimmed NDS files aren't recognized this way. Even if it doesn't list automatically you can still try running it to get a second opinion.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

  • cearp @ cearp:
@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
