You should try to reformat using GUIFormat(less options), or just by setting the cluster size to 32 instead.
I also tried having the cluster set to 32 and that still shave me the same problem. But I've also ordered a 32sd card to see if that will work, if it don't something has gone wrong somehow even though I can't see how a simple Copy past would fail even after formatting to fat32 :$

Use guiformat fat32, cluster size 32kb, and make sure you get your sdcard from a reliable seller, too many fakes out there.

Just to be sure, use H2testw to check your cards.

For sure. The problem is now epidemic, especially for Sandisk and Samsung cards. I stopped buying those and now exclusively use Adata cards, the ones made in Taiwan have been flawless.

Stop saying stuff like it's the SD card, black screen on boot with CFW simply means that the boot file for Luma is missing!

ThoD: But I am sure I have the boot file, when I try to just start from fresh with the 3 bits of software brew load up on boot and then at main screen it says I have no SD card inserted/ SD cannot be read. Is it because it's a micro SD with an adaptor?

Senkun: I will give that format ago again and see how it goes. But the SD card was sold by a Chinese seller I think on eBay and not the normal type of card I would buy, but the 32 card is the same model as the 16 card I have and same seller I got 16 card from a while back. What is guiformat by the way?

guiformat is a simple no fuss formatter ensuring you get a proper fat32 format done even for sdcards above 32gb.

In this case, I am 99% sure your card is a fake.
Yeah I took a look at it and did that before the copy and past > I'm not firmly on FAT32 > 32 cluster. So if I brick/ black screen again it's ether boot is failing OR Fake card in witch I will get a refund for if that's the case via eBay protect.
At least I know the 32G card coming is from the same seller I got my 16G card and that SHOULD work, if it doesn't then I have an issue is software on card I am sure (but that would be another puzzle to locate the problem)

I just had a closer look at your attached image of your sdcard contents. Just like ThoD mentioned, you seem to be missing your boot.firm ...

So getting the boot.firm is going to be "fun" Do I really need to start over or can I just get the boot.firm on the system with the copied software?

Stop saying stuff like it's the SD card, black screen on boot with CFW simply means that the boot file for Luma is missing!

A while ago i was facing the same issue, the boot file was there, but not the rest(files within subfolders), 'cause for somereason the files were being autocaticaly deleted, i was thinking the same thing and replaced the boot.firm , and reformated the micro sd several times and the problem didn't go, when i finally tried to use a different micro the console magicaly turned on. Apparently there was a problem with the card.

It's very odd, i thought you had the boot.firm. How did you 3ds boot with the old 4GB card ?

Well I got the 3ds a few months ago already installed with CFW and was told back then if I wanted to upgrade the SD card all I would need to do is copy and past the files over. With the SD card that came with the 3DS if I boot the 3ds with Start+Power or Select+power button I get these on screen. So how would I go about coping the files over to a new SD card?

Just download and copy the file(s) within to your sd root https://github.com/AuroraWright/Luma3DS/releases

I think Game streaming should work like this.... Local Hardware able the run the game fine, game engine and common assets stored locally, all FMV and music and textures could be streaming

Or free government supplied high speed internet be nice also. Like Obama care. Xdqwerty that's cool, its time consuming but rewarding once done or playable, to see what you've made from scratch. Animations take forever, but worth it.

    @BigOnYa,
and the visual aspect of the game is quite crude (the sprite that looks best is that of the protagonist just because he is a stickman with sunglasses)

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
There is a bullets behaviour you assign to your character, that makes the code easier, under "behaviours"
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
i meant that when the character is pointing to the right, the bullets spawn where they should, but when he is on the right, they move to the right but the spawn point is incorrect
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Itch.io has lots of free assets also. Under the bullets behavior tab, there is a "rotate bullets" option, can try that. Or in the code can try
    - fire bullet Player.X(PlayerDirection)

That's cool tho, I'm proud of you going back to it, not giving up. It is difficult at first to learn, but fun once you get the hang of it. I think I've watched every tutorial video there is, but I still struggle sometimes to get stuff to work right. But gotta keep trying dif things, and eventually you will get it right.
