Type in your serial number in the link below. If it's D3-2 or higher, I believe you can't softmod it to play burned games.

Your drive most likely has the following chipset:
There is a 50% chance the chipset is GC2-D3-2 (v2) with no drive chip.
And there is also a 50% chance the chipset is GC2-D4 on a smaller drive board.
