Hacking Help with game source/font

Hi guys, I'm working on a Spanish translation of Digimon Adventure on PSP but I need to change the game source to put these characters: á, é, í, ó, ú, ñ. I think I found the files but I do not know how to open them.
Could you tell me how to open these files?
Are they really source files or are they another kind of files?
