Hi I just got my first Acekard 2i and I've finished adding all the required files to my SD card so I'm ready to go when my 3DS(2nd Hand) is arrives tomorrow.

The problem is I have no idea what to do once I get my 3DS. All the tutorials I've read and watched basically ends after they add all the files into the SD card and some go onto saying we need another DS (Lite or Dsi) in little detail.

So correct me if I'm wrong.
1.Insert Ace 2i into 3DS and Run it
2.Navigate to where the Firmware update is
3.Run it and update your firmware
Fin?

Lastly, I have no idea what version the 3DS i'm receiving is yet so could anyone the different scenarios that would take place if i got a 3DS v3 or 3DS v4.
I'm asking because in the "Firmware Update of AK2i for console 3DS4.0 and DSi1.4.4" Readme It says...
Attention! Please NEVER UPDATE your console before you update your AK2i! Or you could CAN NOT run your AK2i!

If the webshop where you ordered you're acekard didn't update it, then you need a DS(L) to update you're card, otherwise it won't start on your 3ds

If the Acekard doesn't have the firmware update already installed (the place you bought it from handles this) then it probably won't work on your 3DS. If this is the case, you need to use an older DS to update the Acekard and it will then work on the 3DS.

Just got my 3DS and I just ran a game without doing anything, so I'm guessing my card has already been updated.

Thanks guys

I suggest that you update your acekard2i and here is a guide http://3dsaccessary.wordpress.com/2012/04/18/how-to-update-ak2i-to-support-dsi-v1-44/

Ummm when I press the update it goes straight to the second picture and when I press start nothing happens.

If it matters my 3DS is current V.3

you can't swap cards on a 3ds so use the other file top update and also use moonshell or acekard's fw to update as there is problems running the update on akaio

If your internet speeds are fast enough. Streaming 4k takes alot. I used to only have 20mb sec, and 4k struggled. Now I have 300mb sec and 4k plays fine.

@BigOnYa, why did you start saying my pc has a hamster in the first place?

I think Game streaming should work like this.... Local Hardware able the run the game fine, game engine and common assets stored locally, all FMV and music and textures could be streaming

They went all in on streaming, should have been more of a hybrid approach

Or free government supplied high speed internet be nice also. Like Obama care. Xdqwerty that's cool, its time consuming but rewarding once done or playable, to see what you've made from scratch. Animations take forever, but worth it.

    @BigOnYa,
and the visual aspect of the game is quite crude (the sprite that looks best is that of the protagonist just because he is a stickman with sunglasses)

There is a bullets behaviour you assign to your character, that makes the code easier, under "behaviours"
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
i meant that when the character is pointing to the right, the bullets spawn where they should, but when he is on the right, they move to the right but the spawn point is incorrect
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Itch.io has lots of free assets also. Under the bullets behavior tab, there is a "rotate bullets" option, can try that. Or in the code can try
    - fire bullet Player.X(PlayerDirection)

That's cool tho, I'm proud of you going back to it, not giving up. It is difficult at first to learn, but fun once you get the hang of it. I think I've watched every tutorial video there is, but I still struggle sometimes to get stuff to work right. But gotta keep trying dif things, and eventually you will get it right.
