Help converting .wav_wii files

Hello, so I'm taking a look at the files for Rock Band games on the wii, and found these audio files with an extension of .wav_wii.
They seem interesting, so is there anyway I could go about converting or decrypting etc. these files?

Have you tried just renaming it to .wav? Seems stupid, I know, but it could probably work.

Hmm... Try taking a look at the first few bytes of the file in a hex editor. Maybe that could help determine what format the files are in.

Looks like a garbled mess like most files.

To be honest I don't know at all where to go from here, perhaps you could try opening it with Audacity and trying to import it as different file formats, byte orders, etc.

I also tried that today and got kinda close but there was a LOT of static on top of that.
