Homebrew Having issues with getting some games to work

I think my wii is hard modded (haven't played in a long time)

Its on 3.4 Firmware.

I burned super Mario galaxy 2 but it gives me black screen after trying to start it...
Also have issue with new super Mario bros.

So I was searching, found out I should install homebrew channel and usb GX loader. http://bannerbomb.qoid.us/index.old.php

However my SD card isn't recognized...

searched some more..it was said that it could be because below 4.0 firmware they cant read any sd cards above 2 GB.. and mine is 4 GB...


So tried to update my wii firmware across wifi...

and got error 32007 multiple times.. tested my wifi seemed fine...

So now I am stuck what can I do guys?? thnx

Managed to update to 4.3E...

Tried to load SD card said.. files are corrupt. ERROR 004..

WTF they aren't corrupt..

Bannerbomb doesn't work on 4.3 (hence why you get Error 004). Use Letterbomb or a game exploit. Or just use Modmii and get your Wii up to date in one fell swoop.

Any other apps I should know about when using homebrew channel? Im totally new with it.

I only have GX loader.

Just prefer to have my games in my external 1.5 TB HDD. Without having to format it or something.
(already have important files on it for my xbox 360)

It's fat 32.

You should be fine, as long as it's the first partition, and primary (active doesn't matter). I believe most of the loaders look in "/wbfs" for Wii games (correct me if I'm mistaken). Gamecube games generally go in "/games" (this is where Devolution and Nintendont look for them, anyway; I don't use DIOS MIOS anymore). If you try your hand at GC games via Nintendont or DIOS MIOS though, watch out for the requirements of having specific sectors and cluster sizes..

Sorry please explain me how I do it? the Iso made file from my wii games are too big for filesystem..

I think I must do something with WBFS manager? Not sure what though.

You'll need to split your ISOs/WBFS files then with a tool like WIT (http://wit.wiimm.de/ or http://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/Wiimms_ISO_Tools ) or one of the various programs like Wii Backup Manager . There might be better tools since I last checked, so you might want to wait for others to chime in with suggestions for splitting.

Ahh I remember that tool. I did use that for my wii library I have like 80 . wia files/games...

I guess wii cant use those? anyway to transfer fast to . WBFS in batch mode?

Status update:
I tried copying physical disc- install method on homebrew channel It always gets stuck 0_0.. Discs may be also damaged not sure. tried 2 games.. both freeze when installing, entire wii - need reboot.

I found Wii backup fusion Then added my wia's with split 4G for super smash bros for example.
Now it is converting 81 wia's to my external HDD.

Hope it works!

EDIT:
Wow something really weird happened after this freeze when trying to copy a disc to my USB in homebrew channel. I rebooted, but my screen is now "cropped" there are 2 big borders in my screen. ... it is REALLY annoying.. Anyone know how to solve it? Reboot doesn't fix it 0_0

And when I put new super Mario bros disc in I got ur wii data is damaged please consult manual.. I put in my SD-card launched homebrew directly.. the game worked.. no lockup...

Not sure why.

Put some games from converted wia to WBFS on my USB... Both games try to start... and I get thrown out of GX loader and returned to homebrew channel with the GX loader link in front of me

Ok someone please help me for the love of god
I have been trying for hours on end...
installed all sorts of shit no idea what I am doing...
Not to mention my screen has black borders now 0_0...

Could someone provide a clear short guide how to install the latest method for playing games of USB?

Cuz im super confused right now..

Tried wad manager to install GX loader as a channel.. stupid wad manager always freezes...
