So the first season was well received, although from what memes and fan reactions I've seen, not having watched it myself, it was entirely carried by David Tennant and Michael Sheen, and the rest of the cast and plot was just... there.

Anyway, it was pretty popular and successful enough to warrant a second season.
The first season covered the entirety of the Good Omens novel. The second season is based on the ideas that Neil Gaiman and the late Douglas Addams were tossing back and forth about a possible sequel (they even had a name for it: 667, The Neighbour Of The Beast), but it never came to be due to Douglas Addams' chronic procrastination, and also the fact he died at some point, which tends to hamper creative output. Anyway, the second season is coming soon, and the intro sequence looks like this:

I did see some of the first, and others I know saw the lot and seemingly enjoyed it. I was not overly enthralled by it and nowhere near as tight as American Gods, early Lucifer or even some of the Terry Pratchett TV adaptations of the past.

Terry Pratchett, sir. Not Douglas Adams, who also spells his name with one D.

I understand they already used up a chunk of sequel ideas in the finale for the first season, much of which was most assuredly not in the book.

Pretty much, yeah. I might go so far as to say that I feel kind of bad for them, getting so completely upstaged.

I might say I have a little optimism for this new season, since it shouldn't be constrained by the source material.

Are you being for real, cause that's hard to believe, DK is Nintendo and made in japan, Sea of thieves was from Microsoft, in America. I'm not calling you a liar, just didn't know.
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Ok yes they were both made by Rare, but DK was from Rare back then, Rare now is owned by MS. So makes since.
