I have an original GBA modded with an AGS-101 Screen. I bought it used.
While playing Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga on an EZ Flash IV the device suddenly began to slow down.
I changed batteries and tried different games, even Gameboy and Gameboy Color games, but the slowdown remains.

Even the boot logo is running very slow.

I have no idea whats going on.

On a modern device I would look to heating.
On an older device like this I would look to the clock generation, especially if it persists in GB/GBC stuff (which is an entirely different mode/part of the hardware). This is not an amazingly technical thing but it is more than soldering a fuse, following a guide saying solder these points with these wires or something. Step one though is check that no wires, especially from the replacement screen, have come loose and are shorting something out.

Dang, i gotta check tomorrow. I already feared this was a hardware defect. Extremely annoying.

Thanks for the reply!
