I do appreciate you not referring to me as 'imgod' by including the numbers, BRah! Usually people start flaming because they think i'm blasphemous, BRah. Just wanted to say thnx, BRah.

So, NDS Phat with M3 Simply + 3 in 1 accessory would work good, and be able to play gba roms?
Also, can linuxds possibly get the extra ram?

hi everyone. I recently bought a slot 1 card (g6 flash) and then started researching ways to play gba roms off of it since I thought thats what I could do. BUT, it turns out my gba games dont work on it. so I started googling, and an hour after I have come to this page (well page one of this topic). I know its a bit of a necropost (seeing how the last post was july 14th and im posting in august) but now I realized that you cant play gba games from a slot 1 thanks to you guys. though im really mad right now, atleast i've found my answer. thank you.

Indeed. I own a 3-in-1, and it works flawlessly with my R4. Just remember to patch your ROMs with GBATA, and not the EZ-Flash client, unless the game is a 1Mbit Flash save.

Best 20 bucks I ever spent, and I own a Flash2Advance 256M that I paid more for than my GBA at the time.

I have thought of a possible way in which you could play smaller roms with the memory expansion pak. A ds program on slot 1 would copy the data to the slot 2 memory and boot using memory address 0x9000000 rather than 0x8000000. Maybe this would be possible with a modified bios and firmware.

Yeah. That would be possible with a modified GBA BIOS chip.

BUT
Doing that would take an incredible amount of skill because the GBA BIOS chip is not rewritable. It would involve soldering, custom chips, etc. Much more effort than paying $20 for a 3-in-1!
