I recently modded my Wii U. For the most part I think it has gone smoothly.
Only problem I have is booting gamecube games from the Wii U menu. Tested about 5 of them and they always start up the first time. I create a save file, end the session and restart the Wii U. Every other time I go back to the game I get black screen. Memcard emulation is enabled with 251 blocks in my nintendont config file. I see the saved files being created in /saves directory.
I'm able to get the game working again if I delete its save file from the /saves folder. I create a new save again, and black screen later. I tried installing on NAND and a 500Gb HDD and same thing happens. I tried reinstalling Nintendont but so far no results. I'm able to run vWii and boot the game from the SD card but I'd rather play them directly from the Wii U menu. Did I do something wrong or am I missing something?
