Hello.:)

Unfortunately NO,this is not possible.
Your Wii U formatted HDD can not be simply read with Windows (or maybe other Operating Systems).

You can "copy" original Wii U Games on SD Card with the Tool "disc2app" and then installed on your Wii U HDD with for Example "WUP-Installer GX2".
If you do not have Games you can try to search for other Sources like Wii U USB Helper:

https://gbatemp.net/threads/working-fix-easy-install-wii-u-usb-helper-0-6-1-655.535214/

Now you have a little Help for your Questions.:)

Thank you and
Good Luck.:)

For the WUP-Installer GX2 Channel please look here:

https://sourceforge.net/projects/wup-installer-gx2/files/

disc2app is booting from your Wii U´s Homebrew Channel.

Thank you.:)

Well yes that's possible, but in regards to just Homebrewing, etc. Not atm, while exploiting the USB Stack is possible, (as shown by Gary) Atm this is mainly means of brick recovery, not actually modding the system like the person I was replying to implied. I can see the USB exploiting advancing in the future but taking the context of what the person had asked my answer is still valid. Although I'll change it to being a half no seeing as the exploit is possible, but not under the pretenses of what people would think, as you obviously cant just put Homebrew files on a USB drive and expect it to work the same as an SD card.

Valid point. Anyway, the recovery menu by @GaryOderNichts is able to launch a complete WUPServer. This in return should be a HB entry point, so it should be possible to install a CFW with this.
Yes, this is a lot of "should". I did not test this in any way and others (Gary) might have better answers.

Once again another valid point on your part, I would test this theory myself but I'm unable to atm as you already know. Regardless I'm still excited to see how it advances, now that people know it's possible who knows what might come from it :P

What's really cool about Pi's tho is you can have multiple SD cards with different OS on each SD card and change from say a gaming machine to a full fledged pc if wanted

Plus all bios are set up and usually includes at least 128gbs or 64
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Yeah but if your main goal is just to play n64 and GameCube you can save about $50 and have the portability option

True, but on 2 monitors at 4k. Its just want you want really, to each they own.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
For a kids aspect Anbernic would be the better option they'd probably melt over the price on a good 4k display

For that texasroo guy, I'd recommend the Spell and speak as his first system.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
So they buy a pi5 kit for about $150 and say a 28" 4k display probably looking around $400 total
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
They'll be getting in the territory of portable Pcs anyway
