i was wondering if its possible to extract the video footage (game cinematics) form the wii image using trucha.
if it is possible, is it then possible to watch it on the computer? would i need a special video player or rename the files?

thanks

(not sure if this has been answered before, but couldnt find anything on it)

Well it's all up to the game designers, so it's different for every game. Open the ISO with trucha and have a look around. I know Guitar Hero uses bink video (.bik files) which are pretty common for video games.

Regarding sync I would have a look at the options of your media player (even if you have to do something insane like force decoding of raw streams (i.e. after it is loaded and before it is sent to the graphics card) as it is probably far easier than hacking the splitter/codec.

@SupraGoblin text on the wii is much like rom hacking for every other platform going. In the thread I linked I did some work for prince of persia (the text was a tweak on unicode) and I am hearing it is not much different for other games.

Usually when such a big title leaks the Temp will be the first to report about it (going off of historical reports here, Pokemon SV being the latest one I can recall seeing pop up here)

Not a big movie buff, more of a gamer tbh. And Series X is 120hz 8k ready, but yea only 120hz 4k games out right now, but thinking of in the future.

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I got my Dad a firestick for Xmas and showed him those 3rd party sites on Kodi, he loves it, all he watches anymore. He said he has got 3 letters from AT&T already about pirating, but he says f them, let them shut my internet off (He wants out of his AT&T contract anyways)
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
