Hi everyone,

So It's been a while since I jailbroke my switch (it was somewhere in early 2020). I am on firmware 9.1.0. I was on Hekate 5.1.1 and Atmosphere 0.10.0.
I updated to the latest available Hekate and Atmosphere through AIO switch updater. Eveything seemed to worked just fine.
However, when I loaded Tinfoil into my SD card and tried to install it, Atmosphere crashed.
When I tried to start AIO Switch updater after the update, Atmosphere crashed.

The games that I already have are working just fine however.
I didn't update the console's firmware yet, since these errors happened before I could do so.

I don't know what went wrong or where it went wrong. I wouldn't be against formatting my SD card and doing a fresh jailbreak, but I'd like to back up my games and saves first (I have approx. 74gb of game and save data).

Can anyone help me with either fixing the issue without a clean install, or with backing up the games and saves before proceeding with a clean install ?

Thank you very much.

Hi,

Did you manage to find a solution ? I still can't figure out what to do. Tried to reinstall Hekate and Atmosphere, to no avail.

I am getting some issues as well, not sure if you are having these:

1. Checkpoint crashes for me (when launching through the album and when opening homebrew by opening a game when holding "R")

2. Whenever I try to transfer my save data from my CFW Switch to my clean one, Atmosphere crashes as soon as I select my user profile

GBATemp User raptor5001 mentioned on my thread that "...it seems we will have to wait for an updated version of some homebrew to work with 12.0.0+atm0.19.0."

Please Note: 12.0.0 added a new protocol for IPC ("tipc"), which has been freshly reimplemented in its entirety.
  • It is possible there may be as of yet unfound issues; if there are, please send the appropriate crash reports to SciresM (SciresM#0524 on discord).
  • Homebrew which uses atmosphere extensions (including the mitm API) will need to be re-compiled in order to function on 0.19.0.
    • I apologize for this, but it's unavoidable for technical reasons. If you're affected by this and mad about it, please contact SciresM to complain.
So this may explain why we are all having issues with apps like Checkpoint, Awoo, Goldleaf, Tinfoil etc

Hope this helps, and thanks again to user raptor5001

Yep, I also tried deleting a game and it caused a crash. I can see why some of the homebrew might not work, but why is it causing atmosphere to crash by deleting a game?

I am getting a crash when trying to transfer my game Save Data over to my other console, which also isn't Homebrew related. So I think some things just need to be ironed out

Makes me feel a bit better to hear others are also having non-Homebrew related crashes as I thought there was just something wrong with my setup

Does yours also show that your system has a cartlidge beside each of your games? Its acting like I have 12 different cartlidges inside my system at them same time

When you say a new version, do you mean they updated the latest version that released about 11 hours ago?

When I go to the Github, the latest version is the one they put out 11 hours ago and there wasn't a new version since then

Or so you mean you still had the old version of Atmosphere and hadn't updated it at all yet?

Sorry, I should have explained a little more. It seems like everyone was having the same problem with Atmosphere crashing when trying to delete a game so the developer pushed an update to fix it. You'll find that here:
https://github.com/Atmosphere-NX/Atmosphere/releases/tag/0.19.0

Next, I downloaded these sig patches and just completely re-did my sd card.
https://github.com/ITotalJustice/patches/releases

After I booted up through fusee primary and everything was working. Both goldleaf and awoo installers are working again and not crashing. Hope this helps.

Edit: This is what the new version of Atmosphere has in the description.

Note: The NCM build in the 0.19.0 zip was updated on 2021/04/11 at 5:45 AM PST to fix a random crash when deleting games. The updated zip has a build hash of "-c67c29eb".

I doubt this will help with transfering your saves because it doesnt mention anything about it but it might help you with other homebrew. But it could, who knows

Ah gotcha, thanks! Good to know. I will re-download and install it just in case the new update does fix my issue

As said above, any homebrew using certain features will need to be recompiled. Most notably any homebrew that accesses the SD card. Don't update to Atmosphere 0.19/FW12.0 unless you accept that a lot of homebrew like this won't work. So far only Tinfoil seems to have updated, rest of the homebrew will trickle out updates as their devs update.

How is your SD card formatted?
