Homebrew DVDX doesn't seem to be working.

I'm not sure why it doesn't work properly.
I tried to play a DVD using mplayer and loading SNES roms off a DVD. The homebrew app just freezes when it tries to read from the DVD.
I have a WiiD modchip, so I installed patchmii_core, then DVDX using PatchMii Install.

I tried to google for anyone having any issues with DVDX at all and found nothing.

Not all modchips require the patchmii approach, try installing without it

Tried and failed. When i used patchmii, the drive made occasional sounds after I chose DVD-Video in mplayer. Without patchmii, it didn't even make any sounds.

Have you tried on different media types ? +r / -r ?
