I'm looking to get some DVDs to burn games that have compatibility issues with OPL. I'm not sure what the best format would be? -R, +R, or a RW one? I've played some of my PS1 backups just fine using Verbatim CD-Rs, so I'll be getting the Verbatim DVDs.

Okay, thanks! Just wanted to be sure. Someone wrote on reddit that -r are easier on the laser than +r but I don't know the truth of that so I thought to check which was the best. I know this version of my PS2 supports +r and they're also cheaper to buy.

Don't use DVD-RW.

Between DVD-R and DVD+R, go with whatever is cheapest.

I would personally recommend DVD-R over DVD+R if you can.

The only time when you should use DVD+R DL, is when burning a dual layer game since DVD+R DL is 8.5GB and dual layer support can be spotty due to hardware and software related issues. Games like Gran Turismo 4, Guitar Hero 4, etc are over 4.7GB.
