As is WPA support, but the fact that you have to stay on WEP to get any of the current DS online games working kinda kills that point.

Wtf are you being serious? You still have to use WEP for old games???!!!!!

Get fucked Nintendo!

GO FUCK YOURSELVES!!!!

Bigger screens. This is no benefit because they have the same resolution as the DSLite (295x192) !!!
(And it makes the DSi larger than without bigger screens)
I will never buy a DSi. (It has no benefit for me)

omfg are u serous guys?!
dsi has 2 cameras and an sd slot these will open new and unique homebrew methods and so forth
bigger screens are nothing to scream about
somebody said that the upgraded ram and cpu is useless its not gba games run off the ram remember?
i don't know if its enough ram to run gba games but if it cant then it cant
and for the people with pokemon and the PAL PARK feature have u ever heard of something called a FLASHCART or ACTION REPLAY?
ask yourself do i really need the ancient gba slot?
i am an owner of an EZ flash V 3in1 so i play lots of gba games i have about 70 but they all pretty much suck besides mother 3 and KH:COM but other than that i got nothing to lose
SO as u see there is no reason to bitch about not having a goddam gba slot

Im glad to see all these opinions in only (How many days?)
right now im just gonna quote random people and say how i disagree.

its cuz the dsi is a pathetic attempt to further milk the ds market, instead of giving us a new handheld! You mean kind of like the GBA had the GBA, GBA SP and then the GBA Micro?

I don't like it because it is nintendo trying to be sony by adding semi-useless features I guess gba SP's semi-useless feature was its flippy screen?

And more RAM and CPU? That will never be utilized in any useful way. How can they make DS games that only run well on new hardware? Ram + Cpu = Snes games, which was added to their virtual console, which might i add is very cool since i love SNES. Also, remember he said that he was going to make DSi specific games? thats how he will run it on only new hardware.
QUOTEso there is still a lot of GBA games I haven't played and I still want to play. I'm sure there are a lot of GBA games that I'd like that I'm not even aware of, but if I dumped off my DSL and bought a DSi, I wouldn't even have the chance to play them.
I'm sorry rayder, but thats just stupid, not the part about not knowing a game you might like (Dont we all?) but, if you dumped your dsl? You could still play it? Do you not have a GBA? Do you not have a computer? Both of those things can play GBA games, if you want to pay for it or not. so you would have a chance to play them.

DSiWare is nothing more than a way for them to sell you something without having to provide any physical material (case/cart/manual) and to make it more difficult to pirate.
If im right, it also allows people who want to get a lil start on game programming to come into the field without having to take such huge risks, if they dont get approved, move to another system.

And I can't stand how everyone keeps saying it's a DSL with 2 cameras. That's bullshit...It's WAY more than that.
Explain this a bit more. I see improved speakers, slightly larger screens, an audio player that can't play MP3's, reduced battery life and region locking. Software on internal storage is a good idea, but there's no way to use it if you don't have Wifi. Switching game carts while the console's still turned on is pretty nice. As is WPA support, but the fact that you have to stay on WEP to get any of the current DS online games working kinda kills that point.

I want to like the DSi, I really do. But I just don't see anything there that'll win me over.

Double the CPU speed, four times the RAM. That alone = new system. Also, it isn't an everyday situation, but the screens are brighter than the DSL when both are at full brightness (I tested them both). Also, speaking of screen brightness, you can change the brightness level in game by holding select and pressing the volume buttons.

And the reduced battery life is a bit of a misunderstanding. By default, the DSi keeps wireless on. On the DSL, it would turn it on when you used it (download play, games, pictochat, etc.). With this wireless always on, it can reduce the battery life. But turning that off, and staying on a low backlight setting, you can get 14+ hours of battery life. And I'm sorry, but as much as it sucks to not have WPA for older DS games... that's a big duh. The DS didn't support WPA, why would the games? Now that the DSi supports it, the DSi games will as well. It's a slow start for that support, but at least they finally got it.

As it's been said dozens of times already, the DSi will show it's full potential eventually. The DSi is essentially 2 systems at the moment. There's the DS/L, and the double powered DSi. Currently, we only have DS games to play on it, and most people only see it for that. But when they start to take advantage of the new system specs, we'll see what it can really do. I partially blame Nintendo for the mass confusion going on. They really didn't say too much about this system, so everyone just thinks it's a redesign of the DS.

Playing GBA games on the PC defeats the purpose of a portable system. I don't need to have multiple systems to do a job that the DSL can do by itself already. Get a GBA and I can play no DS games. Buy a DSi and I can play no GBA games. I only NEED one system, my pocket arcade, the DSL and I can have it all in one system. Stupid is wasting money on systems that aren't needed.

The DSL is a freeway. The DSi is a toll road. The GBA is a dead end.
