Hello.Hey, Alex. I installed Unlaunch 2.0, but my HiyaCFW doesn't appear. Does this mean i have to do a full clean install?
The DSi's firmware has no control over charging the console.Does the DSi's firmware have any control over the charging of the DSi? I installed unlaunch and TWiLightMenu++ (I think, this was a while ago), and i was not able to charge it after I installed everything. The charging light does not turn on, and the battery is almost dead. Did I just get really unlucky with my timing? I just want to make sure that the port is the problem before I go out and buy a replacement.

HiHi guys! I just purchased a Dsi XL (jpn version) and I would like to hack it but I have a few questions...
Is the dsi.cfw guide enough?
I read it can be optionnal to not install Hiyacfw: what's best? Should I only install Twilight menu?
If for some reasons I decided I didn't want cfw anymore, is it still possible to uninstall everything to come back to stock dsi? I was thinking about buying a R4 instead of hacking my dsi but at the moment I can't buy one so I wanted to test cfw...
Thanks!
Thanks! You said "you can uninstall everything and it would be almost be as if it was never there": what do you mean by "almost"?Hi
Yes, it is enough to get you setup to play games and Homebrew.
If you use other DSi functions often (such as the Camera or DSiWare that's already installed), and you have a 2GB SD card, I recommend HiyaCFW. If all you want to do is play downloaded games and such, you can go without it. It is not really necessary to any homebrew functions.
Yes, you can uninstall everything and it would almost be as if it was never there.
R4 cards sometimes have "timebombs" that cause it to stop working eventually (but not all of them), not to mention that it'd be more expensive, assuming you already have an SD card lying around. They do have the advantage of making no modifications to your system.
(All you need for CFW is an SD card and a DSi)
In short, I would go with CFW, but that's up to you. However you want to do it, have fun with your DSi
If I recall correctly, there are traces of Unlaunch in the NAND, but the standard user would never know. Thanks! You said "you can uninstall everything and it would be almost be as if it was never there": what do you mean by "almost"?
I was planning to buy R4i gold 3ds plus since it doesn't have timebomb and I have others systems (ds lite and 3ds) so it would be more practical. But I think before buying a r4, I'm gonna give a try to cfw.
Do you have "boot.nds" on the SD root?DSi is freezing when I access album on SD card. I'm trying to install Hiya and TWLMenu++.
