'Destiny 2: Lightfall' expansion announced

During today' Destiny 2 Showcase, Bungie revealed the FPS' next expansion: Lightfall. The latter represents the penultimate chapter of Destiny 2’s Light and Darkness saga, a story that has been nearly a decade in the telling. Lightfall will launch on February 28, 2023 and an announcement trailer was aired for the occasion:

Shattered glass glints in the starlight. Soldiers of the Shadow Legion battle with Guardians under the unmistakable shadows of the fleet overhead—the Witness and its newest disciple are here. Find strength in the Light, arm yourself with Darkness, and peer beyond the veil as you raise the stakes on an already unforgettable campaign. Legendary Mode returns.

Travel to a destination unlike any you've explored in Destiny 2. Cross paths with bone-chilling Tormentors and valiant Cloud Striders, join the fight against the Shadow Legion, and prevent devastation in the technologically advanced secret city of Neomuna.

Features of the new expansion include:
  • The Power of Strand: Lightfall introduces a brand-new subclass element in Strand. Tap into the invisible threads that bind reality, then grab hold and take control. Harness the power of Strand in ways never seen in Destiny 2: from weaving powerful attacks to pulling off incredible new mobility options (grapple, anyone?).
  • A Neon Metropolis: Neptune’s pristine capital city of Neomuna is your playground. Explore the city’s towering skyscrapers and neon-drenched streets where danger, beauty, and mystery brim around every corner.
  • A New Definitively Destiny Campaign: Discover new abilities and new enemies in Lightfall’s epic campaign. Explore Neomuna, fight the Shadow Legion, and face the brand-new Tormentors – powerful enemies that will push Guardians’ skill to their limits. For Guardians who want an even more harrowing test, take on the Legendary mode for more challenge, and even better rewards.
In addition, Bungie announced the launch of Destiny 2 on the Epic Games Store starting today and, through a collaboration with Epic, Destiny-themed content will be brought to Fortnite and Fall Guys.

Another announcement was that for the next week, the Shadowkeep, Beyond Light, and The Witch Queen expansions can be downloaded and played by everyone on any platform, for free.

Never saw a point in such news. online game gets an update. Who plays it at least somewhat will know via more specialized sources, who doesn't - don't care.

Every time i read about this game i remember how atrocious it is...
Bungie, i want my money back, i paid for those expansions an season passes and now i can't play them because you removed the content, F you.
Is there any point in the game, if everything you pay for someday will be removed because they don't want to optimize the game?

Not that you actually care, since you hated D2 at launch for sucking.
No i do care, first because some of that content was great, such as warmind, and also because in case you havent been keeping up, but a large chunk of forsaken is just gone now, yet they still sell the remainder.

Yeah, the raid, dungeon, and blind well, the only part anyone did. Warmind sucked, the final boss was a strike, the story was pointless (less story content than a season lmao) and it only had a "raid lair," in which one of the least interesting raids came out of it.

If yeeting out dogshit content like Red War, Warmind, and Curse of Osiris is what it takes to get Vault of Glass, King's Fall, and a grappling hook, then I'll give them $100 for a year's worth of content knowing you'll be mad about it.

you seem to work entirely based on spite and consumerism rather than being able to appreciate art for what it is, i dont care what you think about the content that was deleted, warmind still had beautiful art direction and some really fun strikes, same with the tangled shore and the forsaken campaign, deleting it out of existence is reprehensible.
