Just an idea Forsaken you might want to do a beta test before you release it, Give to beta testers to see if they see any problems, or things that should be fixed how we did with backup launcher just an idea

Or.. people could just not be stupid and if they are not sure about something, wait to install it to see how other people do with it

be cool to be able to test this, but just cos it works on one wii doesnt mean it will work on every wii, bootmii is needed as fallback id say untill theres like 10 beta testers or anything like that, like when i test shit for wanin, nothing writes to nand, so i feel a bit safer about tha(apart from cIOS)

this thing looks sweet. but if it writes to nand flash, i don't want to test it first. I'd wait until its proven good n all or i have a failsafe in case of a brick (like for my psp, flashing that thing every day cuz i gots a pandora battery)

Like linkinworm said just because it works on his wii doesnt mean it will work on ours or somebody else so my idea was to have beta testers for CSM like we had in backup launcher but it was just an idea So its up to forsaken if he wants to do that

Why is everyone so eager? It's great and all, but don't rush him. He can take his time. I don't care if it's released in a month, it would be worth the wait for all the bug fixes. What if something went wrong and it bricked everyone's Wii because of a small bug? Everyone would hate him for being a nice guy to release it early. Would you rather have a fish just off the line(don't be a smartass), or a nice tuna sandwich?(Can't think of a better analogy

I like the logo too. So leave it in.
Other wise than that. Good work.

Right now seems like the perfect time to have a Wii.

I feel sorry for those who get Wii's after like 5.0 or something, 3.2 is like the 1.50 (PSP) of Wii.

That gets me thinking, Nintendo could fix some hacking with a firmware update, Sony couldn't, but the Pandora was mostly hardware related I guess, so that was their problem. The Wii is software based hacking.

Nintendo won't get to 5.0 for a few years, at the rate they're going.

not with bootmii, Bootmii would be like a software psuedo-hardware pandora figure. It uses software to install and manipulate hardware permenately unless told otherwise in a specific way. Basically Nintendo shouldn't be able to touch it.

I swear though, if Bootmii gets canceled my head will explode.

was there any eta on bootmii?

No nothing released yet.

Don't expect it to come out for a long ass time, because Team Twiizers always make sure there are NO bugs in their projects, and If Bootmii has a bug, that bricks your wii, then its almost unfixable because it'd be bricked from the moment your turn on your wii.

That is exactly why nothing in should be rushed when it comes to these type of products. Again, even Forsaekn said that he bricked his Wii and had to open it up and use someone's modded Wii to revive his to continue using it. I think his Wii is like a cat... 9 lives and from what I see... he doesn't have many left...hehe...

Just wait, that way this won't all turn out to be a 9/11 experience for some of you.

Fors,

Just a thought. If you have worked out the 3.4 FW update from removing the ZTP hack and the only issue is just installing it to the Wii's NAND what about bypassing the save manager all together. Would Gamesave Installer work, or even a modified version of FTPii to install directly to the NAND? I was unable to copy my SSBB game save from the Wii to the SD card with the factory save manager. The only way I could copy it was to use Save Extractor. Just a thought. Thanks for all your work.

Save Extractor http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Save_Extractor

Installing it with the Rebooter or GeckoOS was easier for copying SSBB game data. Im pretty sure Forsaken did not over look this.

A sneak peek (well, more of a tease) of my Custom System Menu or "custom firmware" for the wii. This is cSM_v0.2f ALPHA in action, which is based off system menu 3.2.

The video shows, well, the only few things you can see in this video...the disc channel booting backup discs (without reboot) and my cool logo.

The other features you didn't see that are currently implemented in v0.2f are:

- Region Free System (channels, games, saves)
- Disc Channel lock removed, move it wherever you like...
- Skip Disc Update Check
- Rescue Menu (Hold Y on GC controller before logo)
- Removed NoCopy flag check, copy any savegames or channels you want.

and many, many more on the todo list.

He didn't forget that

well, i just bricked both of my wii's and had to send them to nintendo for repair...I made two $75.00 mistakes lol. Writing the installer was cake, but the patching function doesnt patch the recovery menu correctly...which unfortunately is the most fragile thing to patch at the moment because that's the first thing that's run at startup. ALL the other patches work fine through the installer, which sort of upsets me.

Either way, because of the recovery mode patch not patching correctly (for a reason beyond me, it patches just like the rest and ive triple checked my bytes) I've got two $250 disc spinners!

I think im going to wait for BootMii to be released so I don't have to worry about total brickage anymore...sorry guys. Im still going to be developing patches and such while my wiis are away, so development wont slow at all, just the release is going to be later. Im just glad my Brawl save is on my SD card from testing the nocopy flag removal...>.> /whew

My newest addition to prelude was allowing saves/channels to overwrite when copying, cause its kind of annoying having to delete it first before copying it over.

Fors

An underrated opinion: While Bluesky as a platform is better than Twitter, Bluesky's userbase won't be better than Twitter as people are saying because everyone from the non-bootleg site are moving to the bootleg one expecting for themselves to change with their attitude, but that never works like that.
  • DragonMals @ DragonMals:
I will say though: Bluesky as a micro-blogging site? Needs a bit more oomph and I would officially like it better than Twiter. Can't even post gifs on that site, like what the fuck?
