Can someone double-check my advice before I give it to someone?

Here's the lowdown:

So some guy (not me, I swear) corrupted their Mii Maker when trying to change its logo (never explained what they changed). However, they said that they can still access homebrew by launching the Mii Maker via their profile pic. I have an idea as to how to fix it, but I'm not sure how sound the advice actually is. Thus, I decided to make this post before I tell this person to do this potentially stupid and risky thing.

1. Use tik2sd to grab the tickets for the Mii Maker
2. [Skip if Miis aren't actually stored inside the Mii Maker] use SaveMii or the Mii Maker itself to grab the save data of Miis
3. Find and copy the files for a new Mii Maker (via Nintendo's Servers or smth)
4. Delete the Mii Maker
5. WUP install a new Mii Maker
6. Use an FTP service to give the Mii Maker valid ticket credentials so that it can launch without homebrew
7. [Skip if Miis aren't actually stored inside the Mii Maker] Use SaveMii or the Mii Maker to reimport Miis to the Mii Maker
8. Profit

Again, I'm not actually sure how sound this advice is. It totally has the potential to backfire at any part of the process, and I don't want to be that guy who gives bad advice and makes things worse. If anyone could verify or deny this before I post it on this guy's Reddit post (found here in case you're interested), I'd be very thankful for it.

If the image of a title is not using the right credentials, the app will not work. Why not download miimaker using jnus tool, then swap images?

I have nothing to add, but I just want to ask why would someone mess around with the mii maker in the first place? This is 100% user error.

There is no need to save and swap tickets as the legit ticket of Mii Maker is downloadable from the NUS. So using NUSspli to simply reinstall works like a charm:
Code:

00;03;10;915: Wed 21 2022 13:04:00.034 The content will be saved on "USB:/install/Mii Maker [000500101004a100]/"

Other than that I agree with @godreborn : Reinstalling Mii Maker is overkill. Instead the user should just exchange the files they changed with the backups (use some NUS downloading tool in case the user was stupid enough to not make backups).

//EDIT: So the correct steps would be:
1. Use FTP to put the backuped files back in place.

The overkilled / not recommended steps would be:
1. Use NUSspli to download and install Mii Maker (no need to uninstall first, this is really a one step action).

//EDIT²: Reinstalling a title should btw not touch its saves, so restoring the save file should also be not needed but can't hurt to have a backup at hand.
