so i'm thinking of picking up a wiikey shortly, but i want to make sure i have all sides covered with burning games before i buy it. my only source of a dvd burner is my apple macbook. i've burned dvds before and it always takes quite some time and it spins pretty loudly. i'm worried that when it comes to burning huge images onto verbatims, it might not write properly. these are my burners specs:

MATSHITA DVD-R UJ-857:

Firmware Revision: HBE4
Interconnect: ATAPI
Burn Support: Yes (Apple Shipped/Supported)
Cache: 2048 KB
Reads DVD: Yes
CD-Write: -R, -RW
DVD-Write: -R, -RW, +R, +RW
Burn Underrun Protection CD: Yes
Burn Underrun Protection DVD: Yes
Write Strategies: CD-TAO, CD-SAO, DVD-DAO
Media: No

will it be alright? any comments are appreciated, thanks.

You should be fine with that, just set it to burn at a slower speed than normal (less chance for error).

Other than that, I have no other advice to offer.

While I wouldn't suggest using that, you can try and see how well it works.

If you really want a good burn, go with either a NEC or Pioneer burner. Benq are also good.
