What is the best Sega Genesis/Mega Drive emulator? I mean, are there any forks or mods that work better and have more functionality than genplus-gx?

Genesis Plus GX is pretty from what i experienced. It's not like you have that many choices either..

But Genesis Plus GX is the best option for play SEGA Genesis games on Wii. But not just Genesis, but also SEGA CD, Master System, Game Gear, and SG-1000 games.

I'm not sure what you are asking, but you can grab more recent builds of GPGX from the Github repo. Bu honestly, you will probably never notice the difference between the latest build and oce from two years ago. This is an extremely mature piece of software, made by a meticulous developer. Highest recommendation for SMS / SMD / SCD etc.

GPGX is already great. If picodrive's 32x emulation were added would it be the ultimate Sega emulator for 2D consoles.
