Long story short: I bought a 49" 4K LED TV for $350CAD (about $299 US). My roommate has a PS3 which does Amazon Video, Netflix, and Bluray - but only at 1080p. I'd like to look into 4k options. it seems the Xbox One S does 4K streaming and UHD Bluray, but it doesn't have any games that I want that I don't already own through Steam (except maybe Cuphead) - plus it costs just as much as the TV. A PS4 Slim would be ideal as there are a few games I want and it even does PSNow, but it has no 4K capabilities AT ALL. A 4K roku would work, but it doesn't have Bluray support and would largely be redundant. A HTPC could work, but I dcan't justify one of the amount I will use it, plus I don't trust I can get Bluray software to play nice with whatever other software i use.
Any ideas? or should I hold off for now and wait for another refresh of the PS3 Slim that has 4k upscaling and proper 4k streaming support?
