Hacking Been away from the scene for AGES!

Hi all,

I've been out of the loop for a good few years, but have just found my old PSP 2000 series, and hope you don't mind if I ask a few questions.

It's currently running custom firmware: 6.60 ME-1.1

I just wondered if there's anything I should consider updating to? What I actually want to use it for is to play some old Gameboy Colour games for a podcast I play along with (shout out to Cane and Rinse) and wondered if there were firmwares which were specifically better than others for emulation etc? I also want to play some SNES games, but I remember SNES emulation always being far from flawless on PSP - has that improved over the last five years at all?

Sorry, one more question (and I wasn't sure how to edit my post)

When I hacked my Vita a while back (it's no longer hacked) there was a Vita app I installed to enable me to wirelessly transfer files from my Android device or PC to the Vita. It was useful - is there an equivalent for PSP? I found Ad Hoc File Transfer or something like that, not sure if anyone's tried it and can vouch for it? Thanks!

6.60 ME-1.1 is fine. 6.61 adds nothing as long as you already have permanent CFW.

SNES emulation has improved somewhat. This is the latest SNES emulator, as far as I know.

The Vita app that you used probably was VitaShell using File Transfer Protocol (FTP). The PSP equivalent would be PSP-FTPD.

RetroArch brings nothing new really. the old emu's are still the one's to use.
