Question Are GIFs allowed for profile pics?

My profile image is a mario coin GIF you can only see it when you click on my picture and see my mini profile or look at my main profile page, are those allowed to be your avatar on gbatemp?

Just only signature have a animated, but avatar never be animated.....

They worked pre Xenforo. IPB supported them, but I'm glad Xen doesn't. More of a nuisance. And FYI, animated sigs are likely to be taken down too.
