OK,this is the problem : I bought 2 acekard 2i's and only one of them seems to work.

The chip and hardware id are good (like in the sticky).
The card that doesn't work only runs the official software, not akaio.
I tried the latest akaio and 1.5
When I try to go into the menu I see loading and then a blackscreen.
With the official I can go into the menu.
So I can try to update from the official firmware.
The 1.4.1 firmware updater hangs at 0% tho
No matter which file one I use ( I use a dsl )
I already formatted the sd card with the panasonic tool.
What can I do??

Well my Kingston 4gb is made from Taiwan and I'm pretty sure it's a fake because every time I put time in my Acekard and try to load up a game it bricks my Acekard. But your card is a sandisk so I dont know about sandisk's so wait till an expert comes on here and well see.

Well I'm no expert on this, but what I can suggest is to run the latest AKAIO (1.8.1)

AKAIO 1.8.x has tighter security measures, so if you do happen to have one of the rebranded Acekards that were designed by Acekard and then sold to other manufacturers, it should block it.

Otherwise, I'm asking you to post pictures of your Sandisk.

Try the latest AKAIO, if your Acekard is fake, you will get a message like "It may not be a genuine Acekard. Please contact your vendor" and both screen are red

I already tried the latest akaio ( 1.8.1 )
When I power on the dsl, I see the acekard logo, I press A, I see loading, then it just stays black.
When I use the official firmware I can get into the menu.
I also tried putting the sd card of the working acekard into the non working one and it also just gives the black screen.

I rather enjoy a life of taking it easy. I haven't reached that life yet though.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

    but that's a long shot

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM

  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm

i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space

Nor clothes 🤮 . Saves on time, soap, water and money having to wash them. :D
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@rqkaiju2, Physical media is a great source for archiving your data, none of that cloud storage shiz.
