Gaming A "Hello World" type of guide for Rockband 3 customs?

Is there such a thing? An idiot-proof newbie's guide to authoring songs for RB3 on the Wii?

I've already successfully loaded custom songs other people have made, but I'd like to be able to say, rip a random obscure song from a CD or from YouTube, then play it on the Wii.

If you've loaded customs onto the wii then I assume you are familiar with the c3 community. They have plenty of tutorials. That's the go to place for authoring customs for Rockband 3. You can take your track and use the tutorial plus all the tools needed to author a track.
