Hardware 3DS XL color shells?

Does anyone have any idea about when we should start to see replacement shells for the top and bottom of the 3DS XL?

I'm going to get the Blue one but I would much rather have a Silver system, which won't see release in NA for some bad reason. I want to replace the shell asap, as I'm not very fond of the red or blue colors at all. I would wait, but I need those bigger screens x_x

As a frame of reference, how long did it take for full housing shells to show up for the other DS's, 3DS in particular?

I would love to see black or green. That said, I probably won't bother either way. the XL's shade of blue is much more pleasant that the original's aqua blue, imo.

You can technically do that with ANYTHING, dude. But these are unofficial mods, and take a degree of deconstruction and reconstruction. It's not something "user friendly," if you catch my drift. They're not MEANT to be replaced by users, but they can be.

oh. like modding the ds lite case. nevermind i thought it was like a decal top you could pop off and switch at will. I'll just wait for a colour I like then. thanks

It's no problem. That said, there are color pop-off cases for the original 3DS, so I'm sure we'll soon see them for the 3DS XL as well...

You mean those "Protective Shell"s? Nah, I don't like them, adds too much bulk, I'm more interested in a proper high-quality shell. I've yet to see any that don't look cheap.

Hell it'd be nice to have something that allows the bottom to match the top. All blue 3DS XL would be nice.
