I think they should do different colored cards.
Like a rare Mario Kart 3DS Red Card that is only 10,000 in the world.
And an OoT Gold Edition like they did on the 64.
And if a game sells like over 1 Million they change the card to make it Silver, they also deop the price kinda like Sony's Platinum games.
But none of that would happen.

Personally - I think the cartridge should be the same colour as the edge it slots into (which to me seems either 'grey' or 'Matt silver') so that it 'blends in'

At least with the 3DS the edge looks the same on all the different colours (even if I don't like the two-ton idea of the blue) - unlike with the older DS's it looks 'odd' [IMHO] having a white cartridge in a Black DS, or a black one in a red DS... and so on

I would've also liked a colour matched flipover cover (or something like that) for that top edge to hide the holes though

Oh good. Maybe now I wont lose cartridges in places like
  • Dark corners
  • The bottom of my bag
  • Underneath furniture
  • Between my table and the wall
  • In plain sight on a dark surface
  • Or anywhere else that's hard to see
To show how much of a problem this is, lemme put it this way.
Over the years I've owned 10 GBA games and lost all of them, and already lost at least 6 DS games. These things are so damn tiny and dark colored that I can never find them. (With the exception of Pokemon Sapphire. Idk how I lost two copies of that. Maybe my mom stole them...)

I've NEVER found a GBA or DS game again after losing it.

You're doing it wrong. I've been gaming for ten years now (started with GBC, now have a DSi) and I never EVER lost a game. If you'd just clear up your stuff after using it (make a special games drawer or something) you won't lose your games.

Also on-topic: I like black cards better.
EDIT:typo fix

...You could just put the cartridges back inside their boxes, you know. Your examples just seem to indicate that you don't organise them properly.

I don't mind what colour the cartridges are, as long as they fit the colour scheme of the base of the console. White works well with the grey/silver 3DS base.

while we look at that pic, we can notice that the stylus goes in the top unlike the dsi and lite
Only noticing that now eh? I noticed it as soon as they revealed it at E3.
At first I was put off, but I guess that's okay because the official stylus is actually an extending one.
