    I'm pretty sure they didn't mean it crashes ALL the time, just more often than before. I've personally never had a crash in SuMo even when playing a rom hack, but that doesn't mean nobody else has encountered a crash.

    I would recommend upgrading from A9LH to B9S, as it will ensure that your system won't be broken by the 11.5 update, and it's the only way to keep getting Luma3DS and GodMode9 updates. Check the great 3ds.guide and follow the steps.

    I can't recall. I seem to remember the reports mentioning that there were "several games" with slowdown, but I can only remember OoT 3D being mentioned by name.

    I mentioned this before, but I believe 11.4 fixes an issue from 11.3 that causes noticeable slowdown in several games like Ocarina of Time 3D. So, there is still a possible reason to update even if you don't mind about some of the online functions requiring CTR-HTTPWN.

    New3DS, with A9LH on 11.4.0-37U. I believe SaltySD worked fine for me too, I just switched to LayeredFS so all my files would be in the same place as my other hacks. Sorry if my previous wording was misleading.
