    TV and Movie catalogue/database software

I am looking for a piece of software that will allow me to make a list of TV shows and movies that I want to watch, and allow me to specify if I own them on DVD, or if they are available on various online subscription services (e.g. Netflix, Amazon Prime Instant Video, 4OD etc.). Ideally, it...

Gaming List of hackable wii games?

Well according to the FAQ at the end of the second post I linked to, you can add more than two images to the TPL, as long as you edit the BRFNT header correctly (and perhaps you would have to move some other parts of the file about etc.). So in theory, it's possible, but I guess you're right...

Gaming List of hackable wii games?

Riivolution can replace any file in any game. So any game can be "hacked" (a more correct term would be "modified", really). Of course, many games use proprietary formats and whatnot, meaning to actually make working replacements you'd probably have to reverse engineer the formats used. Then...

    .android file

It's related to Android SDK, if you don't use the SDK you can delete it. SDK is the software used for developing apps, it includes an Android emulator and debug tools e.g. adb, which is sometimes used by Android-related PC programs. Unless you actively develop software for Android, that...

Decrypting a ZIP file with a hex key

I am currently attempting to remove the DRM from an ebook I purchased from a relatively new, UK only ebook store, so that I can read said ebook on my Kindle. Now, the store in question uses EPUB files (which are simply ZIP files with a particular structure), and the EPUBs are encrypted as...

    Android Got a Galaxy S i9000 & stock Android 2.3.3;want new OS

Some phones are capable of dual booting (including the Galaxy S Plus, the incrementally improved version of your phone), but it is a phone-specific thing and I don't think anyone has created a dual boot solution for the regular Galaxy S. Anyway, even with the dual boot functionality, you can...

Hacking Wii u and Wii U game pad hack talk to be presented soon at CCC/30c3

My postulation is they will discuss the WiiU and it's various security measures, with a probable demonstration of their circumvention, without a thorough indication of how their exploit(s) work or an actual release of anything "important" for WiiU homebrew. As has been explained by the team in...

    Hacking Possible new exploit

This is one of the stupider comments I've seen on this site, and that's saying something. There is absolutely zero indication that this "new exploit" (which there is no proof it actually exists) is in anyway related to any flash card, and in fact it is quite clearly stated that (if it exists...

    The Humble WB Games Bundle

Hmm, well maybe it will run. It's downloading anyway, to see if it does or not. I saw "3GHz" and thought "no", but I guess that's single core. I can never figure out if my processor is good enough for games or not (stuff like the "megahertz myth" put me off comparisons of clock speeds, and I...

    The Humble WB Games Bundle

Paid $5 for all 6 games in the hopes that one day I will own a computer capable of running the Batman games...always wanted to play them, but never bought them as my laptop is not suitable for intensive gaming. Don't think I'll ever have the option of getting them both for $5, with 4 other games...

    Hacking Jailbreak of psp1000?

Yes, there are plenty of games with official online play, and no, I have never heard of anyone being banned for CFW.

    Hacking Jailbreak of psp1000?

FYI the term "jailbreak" applies only to iOS devices. Don't use it as a generic term for modding any system. For PSP, the correct term is either "modding" or "installing CFW" or something along those lines.

Hacking 3dslink just released a firmware

AFAIK, Gateway's implementation was the first released to the public. There was some fairly vague info about the exploit vector on 3dbrew, and maybe some chatter in #3dsdev, but few concrete details. They took that and re-created the exploit independently (since then the same has been done by a...

Hacking Gateway 3DS Team Response to Clones and 2.0 update

Unlikely, the launcher.dat will almost certainly check for the presence of their own card before rebooting with the various software patches it applies. It would be slightly silly for them not to perform such a check in the context of protecting their business assets. (This is similar to how PS3...

Hacking 3DS Hacking Ideas: Post Your Ideas Here!

Nope. The check is in the system software itself, not on the game, so even if it were possible to modify a game (spoiler: it's not), that'd be no good.

Hacking 3DS Custom Firmware by Smealum

There are interoperability laws, which is how stuff like action replay devices etc exist and are sold legally. Not sure of the full ramifications, but it's not illegal for them to remove homebrew, or they'd have gotten in trouble for removing HBC in wii updates

Hacking 3DS Custom Firmware by Smealum

No, that just happens to be how smealum runs DS-mode code to alter the DS profile name. A 3DS-compatible DS-mode flash card will be perfectly sufficient. (smealum just doesn't have one, so he uses an exploit he wrote for Bangai-O). After that is done (one time thing), everything else is loaded...

Android 4.4 KitKat released, Nexus 5 available from 1st November 2013 onwards

On the off chance you haven't ignored yet (or for anyone else who shares this opinion), I'd like to clear this up; I know full well that apps used to be allowed to update themselves (although very few ever did, most left it to the Play Store to do it anyway), but that is not relevant to this...

Android 4.4 KitKat released, Nexus 5 available from 1st November 2013 onwards

I literally have no idea what you're on about. I was making the point that Google Apps are updated via Google Play, unlike AOSP apps, which are only updated in OS updates. You are talking something about EA, which is 100% irrelevant to an OS update discussion.
