    CodeSnag - Twitter giveaway winner

I finally got the motivation together to write this program. I've been thinking about doing this for a long, long time, and now that I finally started it, it was finished in a weekend. Couldn't think of a good place to share it, so I figured I'd start here. CodeSnag is a program that reads all...

Hardware My 3DS is showing the wrong version number...

I was attempting to update my 3DS today, it installed the update most of the way and then failed and restarted. Now I have this problem: Any ideas?

    Subscribe to Section?

I distinctly remember being able to subscribe to entire forum sections in the past. Can we be able to do that again? I liked being notified about new threads in USN, GBAtemp/Scene News, and the Trading section. Emails notifications are optional, but would be nice. I mean, I guess the RSS...

Tutorial Steam Sale Survival Guide & FAQ

(While somewhat full of comedy, this is a legitimate guide.) Step 1: Make a Plan. Before the Steam sale arrives and mangles your already injured wallet and PayPal account, plan ahead. 1a. What games do I want? Make a wishlist containing all of the games you want to buy. As Steam now emails...

Gaming What would have to change?

I've seen plenty of Xbox One hate, but I haven't seen people say what Microsoft could change to make the console more appealing. There's the obvious reasons and the not so obvious reasons, and I think venting it out would be a boon to us and Microsoft (lol as if they read GBAtemp). I'll start...

    Review Remember Me (2013)

Remember Me is a third-person action game set in Neo-Paris, year 2084. The game stars Nillin, the world’s top “memory hunter”, working under the banner of being an “Errorist” seeking to bring down the false utopia created by the Memorize corporation, where the plutocrats live in places like...

FIXED! No more threads in the reviews section?

There's rules on how to write a review for our reviews section, but the Create Thread button is disabled. I spent a decent amount of time writing a review just now too. Darn it.

    FIXED! Long user titles.

I'm not sure if it's just because it's 2am, but I find this bug quite humorous. In case it's not clear, if you don't put any spaces in your user title, you end up with the monstrosity you see on your left. Fun fun. I'll change my title back when the problem's been acknowledged. Credit goes...

    Humble Double Fine Bundle

I'm not too sure about this new model for the Humble Bundle, with extra content at set prices rather than just beating the average. Regardless, these 4 games are fantastic, and worth every penny they're asking for them. (Average currently sitting at $7.60) Source

    Humble Bundle Mojam 2

Tomorrow, Mojang, the developers of Minecraft, will be hosting the second rendition of what they call the Mojam. They're going to make a game between tomorrow at noon EST until Saturday evening. A few key changes this go round, though. Whether or not I'll be donating is up in the air, but...

Hardware Optical Audio only works in XMB

I just changed my A/V setup to a monitor (without speakers) and optical audio to my PC's soundcard. This sound card does not support Dolby nor surround sound of any sort, and is designed to have headphones as the main output. That info may or may not be relevant. I have my PS3 hooked up to my...

    Humble Bundle 7!

Ohhhhhh yes. You guys have to get this. If only just for the under average content. Binding of Isaac is my most played game on Steam. It's currently sitting high at 235 hours played. And Indie Game the Movie is a masterpiece. If you're not sure about it, check it out on Netflix. All in all...

    Humble Indie Bundle 6

The Humble Bundle rides again with 6 games that all look to be pretty amazing. I've heard vaguely good things about Torchlight, and Shatter sounds like the kind of game that would have me hooked for weeks. All these games are available on Steam and DRM-free on PC, Mac, and Linux. And you get to...

Neversoft working on Call of Duty franchise

If your internet speeds are fast enough. Streaming 4k takes alot. I used to only have 20mb sec, and 4k struggled. Now I have 300mb sec and 4k plays fine.

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:

I think Game streaming should work like this.... Local Hardware able the run the game fine, game engine and common assets stored locally, all FMV and music and textures could be streaming

Or free government supplied high speed internet be nice also. Like Obama care. Xdqwerty that's cool, its time consuming but rewarding once done or playable, to see what you've made from scratch. Animations take forever, but worth it.

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    @BigOnYa,
and the visual aspect of the game is quite crude (the sprite that looks best is that of the protagonist just because he is a stickman with sunglasses)

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
There is a bullets behaviour you assign to your character, that makes the code easier, under "behaviours"
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
i meant that when the character is pointing to the right, the bullets spawn where they should, but when he is on the right, they move to the right but the spawn point is incorrect
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Itch.io has lots of free assets also. Under the bullets behavior tab, there is a "rotate bullets" option, can try that. Or in the code can try
    - fire bullet Player.X(PlayerDirection)
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:

That's cool tho, I'm proud of you going back to it, not giving up. It is difficult at first to learn, but fun once you get the hang of it. I think I've watched every tutorial video there is, but I still struggle sometimes to get stuff to work right. But gotta keep trying dif things, and eventually you will get it right.
