Eh, I honestly found 64 DS way more fun than Odyssey, even if controls are objectively inferior.
I just prefer the strict 150-Star limit, instead of the hundreds of Stars, most given for incredibly inane "accomplishments" like breaking a sparkling rock, or tracing patterns, or memorising how to create a Mario face.
Odyssey really could've benefitted from a strict cap in this case, pruning out all the stupid and overly frustrating stuff. I can't think of a single 64 DS Star I actively dislike, while I can think of many for Odyssey.
I've never played Sunshine, nor do I plan on doing so - it's more similar to Galaxy than 64 in terms of Stars, as each location forces the player to get Shine Sprites in a set order, aside from those hidden around Delfino Island itself (and Blue Coins). Also, fuck the Sprite in the hotel casino, and fuck the pachinko Sprite, and fuck the lily-pad-on-poison-water Sprite.
I'm happy with 64 DS. Near-perfect game; if only Nintendo would remake the remake for Switch 2 or something, giving it proper controls and increased visual quality.
@x65943 I've watched chuggaaconroy's LP of Sunshine before. It's quite old by now, but I have watched it several times over the years, so I do know about Sprite locations (and how BS some of them are).
@x65943 Some games are just not for me, I can still enjoy watching others play them.
That being said, generally I prefer playing them myself, I only watch the ones I don't want to play, or sometimes ones I'm on the fence about.
@x65943 I didn't have a GameCube at the time, nor did I know about Dolphin (if it even existed back then), so I straight-up couldn't play Sunshine; besides, chugga is/was a funny and entertaining commentator, so even if I couldn't or didn't want to play the game myself, he still made watching him play it entertaining.
In short, I never did watch chugga's Sunshine LP for Sunshine; I watch it for his commentary, his explanations and jokes and all the times he died trying to get Sprites (and his reactions to these). Same for any of his other LPs; heck, I only learned of and became interested in Xenoblade because of his highly-detailed yet still entertaining XC1 Wii LP. Same goes for EarthBound and Mother 3 and Ōkami.
@K3Nv2 I got some cheapies at wallys, that are pretty good, already have lost a few expensive ones (one falls out and gone, can't find) while cutting grass so bought some cheap ones, and of course never lose these cheap ones. (Cheap meaning only $35, compared to air buds which I only have 1 of 2 now)
I respect your objectively incorrect opinion
