Purchased this thing yesterday for emulation.

Second I got home, I got it running 6.61 c pro no problem, can't seem to figure out how to run pops loaders but still looking into that one.

But I was downloading a PSX classes from the PSN store from old downloads I had from PS3 days. Mid download, I lost battery life and it shut down on me.

Spend 4 hours trying to get it back up plugging it into every outlet, tried a bunch of adapters and two computers. Couldn't get it to charge, or turn on.

I decided to pull the battery for what ever reason, and I was able to get it to boot up. Started charging after I changed the settings to force USB charge in USB mode in the recovery mode.

So I decided to screw it back up, and let it charge. After about 45 minutes, I went to check on it, and it was off and not charging. Had to unscrew it, pop the battery, and tried to turn it back on and it works, obviously its a battery problem, or a CFW problem with the battery.

So it charges for a while, and turns off and locks up, if I put it into sleep mode it comes back, but if I power it off, it locks me out again.

Just wondering what my best options are to get this fixed.

my old 3ds refuses to charge unless the charging cable is just so. you either need to replace the battery or there's something wrong with the charging port.

Makes sense, I noticed that the battery was not taped so it was obviously replaced at one point. But Ive kept up the charge all day and I haven't had the same issue.

Only big issue ive noticed was, the device won't charge if the screen is closed, or shut off, I need to have it on and open to charge.

Basically on standby and open is the only way I can charge it.

We're talking about PSP,not 3ds here.This is off-topic.

not really. I'm merely making suggestions based on my own experiences. I don't own a psp with a charging issue. though, sometimes the cable stops working for no reason, and I have to order a replacement. however, issues with the psp should be similar to ones for the 3ds (i.e. cable, battery, port). pspident might show if it's charging. I know vitaident does, so it's just a suggestion.

Thats the weird thing though, I can upload and download files from the PSP if it is connected to my computer, it charges fine when it is open and left on. But the second I close it, or power it down I can't charge it.

I haven't had a single problem with it not powering back on since making sure to charge it when the battery gets to one bar.
