This piece of shit was working last night. It's Luma whatever (hasn't been updated since before boot9strap came out) on A9LH. It just turns on with a blue light and nothing happens. The screens don't even glow. When I take the SD card out, it turns on then back off again like it's supposed to. I got it to boot once by holding start while powering on ( after bending the old miceoSD adapter in half and finding another one). It literally takes about 5 minutes to power off and every time this happens I would gain intense pleasure from snapping this godforsaken piece of shit right in half every time it happens.

Can I have your system instead of you destroying it? I'll give it a good home.

On a more serious note, it sounds like you have an Old3DS correct? Find a regular sized SD card and use that instead of a microSD card within an adapter.

It's probably the SD card / adapter's fault, not your console's. Get a new SD card / adapter and when you have updated to B9S, don't forget to copy the firm file to CTR-NAND so this doesn't happen again.
I broke the old adapter and used a brand new one and now today it stopped working again. This system has an through hell and back but it really picked bad time to stop working for no reason.

I would love to but how would I attach that to my desktop PC without buying yet another adapter? Also, the only system I have that would have one of those (my Wii) has the SD slot empty.

Grab a flashlight, and look inside the SD slot. Did you warp the pins by any chance?

First, update to 7.0.5 if not already. https://github.com/AuroraWright/Luma3DS/releases
When it works, move the arm9loaderhax.bin to CTR-NAND. Then you'll stop having this issue.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but why is that? Does this cause any issue?
I ask because I always used micro sd cards with adaptors on my o3ds, and I never had any problem.

The adapters you get when you buy a microSD card are garbage, and it introduces an additional element that can fail into the equation. I subscribe to the KISS philosophy.

I've used a micro sd with an SD adapter in my wii for a while now with no issue. It is literally just redirecting pins. I've had the micros in my phone fail before the one in an adapter in my wii u (both were same exact model purchased at the same time)

Valid point about the adapters. But why would you introduce more electrical resistance to a circuit when you don't need to?

Because I can move it across any device and it will fit. If I buy just a standard SD it will only work on my limited amount of devices that use it. Perfect example I used to have a 128gb microsd in my wii u, but then I formatted and now use it in my switch instead. Makes it easier to reuse in anything later if I stop using the original device.

Gotcha. I can buy that argument.

good for you then, but in general they can't be trusted, yes they are just passing on the pins but some of (most in my experience) have bad connection either on the micro side or on the full side, and sometimes both. and just get worse over time. I've thrown away tens of these adapters that failed. luckily I had a mountain of spares to go through until I found a working one lol

so yes in case you have as much problems as the OP, you'll wanna eliminate that point of failure.

not to mention some full-size SD cards are just cases containing a microSD inside, so even getting a full-size doesn't always mean you're not using a microSD.

Wow that is the stupidest thing I've ever seen. As far as I know Lexar never pulled a stunt like that.
AFAIK that won't happen on any name brand item

Well obviously you'll want to remove that point of failure for troubleshooting. My point was that's it's unreasonable to say to completely ditch using a microSD in an adapter completely, as there are many reasons to continue to use that setup.

I would still advise against it if you plan on taking the card out alot. but if you're gonna put it in, and then use FTP for everything, sure go ahead! just my two cents though.
