it's just another mount point. Usually it's used on PSTV to mount an external hdd via USB but there is a plugin for Vita that allow you to mount the Sony card as uma0

Yes currently you need to reactivate HENkaku each time you reboot. Uma0 is mass storage. Basically it will let you store stuff on uma0 but you can not run or install applications off it, including Vita games and homebrew. You can however store ROMs, pictures, video, etc

What is the thickness of your adapters? And are these of the 1.0 version variety with exposed test points?

1.0mm thickness and they are the 1.0 but I mask the solder points before shipment so you don't have to worry about shorts.

anyone has tried printing a case that fit with these adapter?
here's one design for the vita cart https://sketchfab.com/models/942427f924ed437eb8d667a504eb0fac, however it obviously cannot be used with the adapter (no hollow space inside the cart)

You actually do not need masking or insulation. I have tested upwards of 250+ with no mask and have not seen ANY shorting. If you really want to play it safe you can put some tape/nail polish/paint over the contacts but it's not really necessary.

casing would be nice but it be side the vita so I doubt it really needed unless you take it out often. Just make sure you not electrified touch something metal before handling it I guess and to store it outside then use some electrostatic bags if you want to play it safe

If you search for sd2vita on aliexpress, you can find some adapters ready to go. With epacket shipping, it seems like shipping times will be around a week tops. I originally wanted to get the one from france but it keeps getting sold out even though I'm in the first 500 who pre-ordered.
