I've been out of this scene for a while, until I saw that some local store near my house in japan are selling DSi XL in a perfect state at a very cheap price.
So I know that the DSi is both region and language locked, if I buy one I won't be able to play the games in french or english, or they won't even launch.
Since SudokuHack is pretty much impossible now, I was then wondering then if there was a way nowadays to hack the DSi and being able to unlock the region/language limitation?
I can also use my 3DS XL to hack the DSi mode, but I don't like the bad streching of the ds games, and it looks weird when launching in pixel perfect mode...

I'm not familiar with DSi hacking progress.

These should be most of the games that are stuck in Japanese when played on a Japanese DSi or 3DS.
Feel the Magic XY XX
Lost in Blue 2
Mega Man ZX (PAL version)
Mega Man ZX Advent (PAL version)
Sonic Colors
Sonic Rush
Sonic Rush Adventure
The Rub Rabbits
True Swing Golf
Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship 2007
Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship 2008
Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's Stardust Accelerator: World Championship 2009
Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's World Championship 2010: Reverse of Arcadia
Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's World Championship 2011: Over the Nexus

Yu-Gi-Oh GX Spirit Caller has a workaround. Based on my observations so far (I haven't tried every possible mix of version/language), the language is automatically set when starting a new save file. Use a non-Japanese system to lock in what you want, then it'll stay that way until/unless deleted.

Puyo Pop Fever is not affected. It has a separate language menu.

Remember DS games (NTR) games are Region Free. of course, you need pick a USA cartridge to play NTR games in english.
if you pick another region code, like JPN or SPA, you will play it in japanese, spanish, or whatever.
DSi Games (TWL) are region locked, so, i think if you buy Pokémon Black/White (2) (USA) i don't think these games will not work in a japanese DSi since these games are DSi enhaced.
Or you just can pick a R4, download the ROMs, and play it, Simple, and easy :toot:

I would recommend you wait for an exploit with flipnote studio or web browser. Coming Soon.

CFW, SD redirection of DSiWare, and region free are possible once this new exploit is out. No time table on when. Only Soon™. :P

Note though you currently must have DSiWare based exploit installed and the ability to downgrade/upgrade to 1.4.0 as that is the only version it will work on. Have yet to test offsets for Japan/Europe consoles either so I don't know if offsets will be the same for them.

Yeah that indeed looks very promising :D
Sadly I have no way to know what firmware is on the DSi before buying it :'(
And as I know the jap shops, they are probably updating their DSi before selling them.

iQue DS has the closest thing to region locked NTR games, but it's pointless.
Nintendo only released 5 cartridges translated to Chinese (plus some kind of Nintendogs demo whatever it is). And all of their ROMs can be patched to work.

The issue with DSi that I was talking about, is its operating system language options. The region of your DSi changes which languages some games can be played in.

Yes indeed that's exactly the problem ;)

Well, from what I've heard from my parents, he had a seizure last night, perhaps an epileptic episode, fucking died, had a near death experience, my dad called the paramedics, they showed up, took him to the hospital, and he woke up covered in tubes, and started complaining.

He couldn't eat until after his MRI, when he had a bomb pop.
